Team India's star fast bowler Mohammed Shami has been honored with the Arjuna Award by President Draupadi Murmu at Rashtrapati Bhavan on Monday. Shami has become the 58th cricketer from India to receive this honour. Along with Shami, the President has also handed over Arjuna Award to players of 25 other sports. Badminton players Chirag Shetty and Satwiksairaj Ranki Reddy have been honored with the Khel Ratna Award.
Mohammed Shami had given an emotional statement regarding the Arjun Award after reaching Delhi a day earlier. He said that this is like a dream come true. People spend their whole lives, but they are not able to win the Arjuna Award. I am very happy about this.
